Job summary

The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) seeks a Part-time Anti-Hunger Program Associate with D.C. Hunger Solutions to help increase SNAP participation in the District of Columbia. You will assist residents with SNAP applications, mid-certifications and recertifications in a fully remote setting.

Reporting to the Director of DCHS, this three-month engagement may be extended. Candidates must reside in the DC, MD, or VA metro area to support local outreach efforts.

• Six months of SNAP client experience.
• Strong conceptual and creative thinking.
• Detail-oriented planning and execution.
• Willingness to work varied hours.
• Ability to engage low-income families and community orgs.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to collect, analyze and report data.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and team-oriented skills.

Responsibilities

• Review SNAP applications and conduct interviews with new/existing clients.
• Coordinate SNAP pre-screening with the Outreach Associate.
• Support integration of SNAP work across the District.
• Identify opportunities to improve the SNAP application process.
• Record and track client interactions across stages (pre-application, mid-certification, recertification).
• Assist in developing solutions to SNAP applications with the SNAP team.
