Job summary

Hope Learning Academy in Springfield, IL, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to support assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders under the supervision of a licensed SLP.

The SLPA will implement identified programs, collect data, write notes, maintain equipment, and assist with evaluations and record-keeping as directed, in a collaborative clinical-educational setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
• Illinois license as Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of medical/clinical records and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with computers and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment and instruction in individual and group settings, following plans developed by the Speech Language Pathologist.
• Collect data and write daily treatment notes as specified in each patient’s plan.
• Maintain speech and language therapy equipment in good repair.
• Promote motivation and confidentiality in treatment.
• Assist therapist with evaluation and record-keeping procedures.
