Job summary

Upstart is hiring a Software Engineer for Site Reliability Engineering, focusing on reliable, observable production systems. You will work across observability platforms, tooling, and incident systems, delivering scoped projects and applying AI throughout the lifecycle.

You will collaborate with multiple teams and contribute to proactive reliability improvements, with remote work options and a competitive compensation package in the US.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software/SRE or related field.
• Proficiency in Python/Go/JS/TS for production systems.
• Experience designing, building, testing, and operating production software.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• On-call or incident response experience.
• Proven ability to deliver scoped engineering projects.
• Experience using AI-assisted dev tools across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve tooling, services, and automation for reliability.
• Develop shared observability for metrics, logs, traces, and health.
• Improve incident response and operational readiness.
• Develop resiliency capabilities and recovery strategies.
• Identify recurring toil and automate manual processes.
• Leverage AI to enhance software development and ops workflows.
