Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Software Engineer on its Site Reliability Engineering team to build and operate systems that improve the reliability, resiliency, and observability of Upstart’s production environment.

You will work across observability platforms, tooling, incident response, automation, and resiliency capabilities, delivering well-scoped projects and leveraging AI to enhance development and operational processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software/SRE experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing, building, testing, and operating production software.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and observability tools.
• Experience with on-call or incident response.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate systems to improve reliability, resiliency, and observability of production environments.
• Develop shared observability capabilities (metrics, logs, traces, service health).
• Improve incident response and operational readiness through tooling and automation.
• Identify and reduce operational toil with durable software solutions.
• Apply AI to the software lifecycle to enhance deployment and incident investigation.
