Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is hiring a simulator modeling engineer in the Plant Services department to develop software models for the control room simulator. You will work with operators and engineers to update plant models based on engineering documentation and use GSE tools like SimExec and JTopmeret, RELAP5/Trace, and neutronic codes.

The role supports development, testing, and operation of the NuScale control room simulator, follows NuScale procedures, and may require limited travel for hardware

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in physics, engineering or technical field from an accredited college; ABET preferred.
• Five+ years of full-time software development experience focused on modeling and simulator development.
• Experience with GSE simulation software (SimExec, JTopmeret, JElectric) and thermal hydraulic/neutronic codes.
• Proficient with IDEs (Visual Studio/VS Code) and Git; familiarity with GitLab or Github.
• Experience with Fortran, C++, Python; ability to read P&ID drawings.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering documentation into plant models with high accuracy.
• Support development, testing, and operation of NuScale control room simulator.
• Develop software following established procedures and maintain configuration control.
• Document defects using issue tracking software and propose solutions.
• Provide recommended solutions and collaborate to deliver high-quality results.
• Work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and coordinate with team.
• Set up and maintain hardware (computers/monitors; cables); travel may be required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
