Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in claims
• Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience in claim handling
• State certification or license as an experienced claims adjuster; Workers’ Compensation license maintained

Responsibilities

• Receive and validate workers' compensation claims and policy coverage
• Investigate to determine validity and compensability; file documentation with state agencies
• Establish reserves and authorize payments within reserving authority limits
• Develop action plans with the case manager and outcomes manager to reduce costs
• Coordinate early return-to-work with relevant parties
• Manage subrogation and potential litigation as applicable
• Report claims to excess carriers when needed
• Maintain professional customer relationships
