Job summary

CorVel is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to manage complex workers’ compensation claims, collaborating with case managers and attorneys to ensure optimal outcomes. The role includes handling subrogation, settlements, and compliance with state regulations while supporting the Claims Department and CorVel's ACE-IT culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience and claim handling.
• Self-Insured Certificate preferred.
• State Certification or license as a Workers’ Compensation claims adjuster must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Receive Workers’ Compensation claims and confirm policy coverage.
• Investigate validity and gather information for documentation with state agencies.
• Establish reserves and authorize payments within limits.
• Develop action plans with case manager to reduce claim costs.
• Coordinate early return-to-work efforts with stakeholders.
• Manage subrogation and litigation as applicable.
• Report claims to excess carriers when required.
• Communicate status with customers and claimants.
• Adhere to guidelines and participate in reviews.
• Maintain professional customer relationships.
• Comply with applicable state rules and regulations.
