Job summary

Ducks Unlimited, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineering Technician in Syracuse, NY, supporting wetland restoration and enhancement projects.

You will perform surveying, drafting with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and construction management tasks for NRCS, USFWS, and state properties across PA/NY with occasional regional work. The role requires a two-year technical degree and 5+ years in construction, with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry is preferred.
• Oral, written, and communication skills are essential. Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to work with and solve problems in close team-based relationships.
• Desirable qualifications include experience with drafting (Civil3D experience preferred), land surveying, and construction inspection. Knowledge and experience with USDA Farm Bill programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design engineers, engineering technicians, and biologists on project related tasks.
• Communicate with stakeholders on restoration project status.
• Perform topographic surveys using total station and GPS survey equipment.
• Provide AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting support, including topographic survey drawings, land development plans, and design drawings.
• Oversee construction contractor procurement, bid document development, pre-bid meetings, and contractor selection.
