Job summary

Olsson is seeking an experienced Water Treatment Technical Expert to advance nationwide water treatment capabilities. You will lead process selection, design, optimization, and commissioning, while mentoring staff and driving technical innovation on projects for clients.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, strengthen long‑term client relationships, and help shape firm strategy around drinking water treatment, PFAS and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; master's preferred in chemical, civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of drinking water industry experience, including process design and engineering.
• Must be a licensed professional engineer (PE).
• Strong background in municipal water, water quality and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading and mentoring others; active professional organization participation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for treatment process selection, design, optimization, pilot testing, and commissioning.
• Support project delivery, staff development and mentorship, and technical innovation.
• Provide insights into firm water treatment strategy and technical approaches to support pursuits.
• Identify market trends, emerging water quality issues, client needs, and technical expertise needed to capitalize on ever changing water services.
• Help build strong relationships with internal staff, clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders.
• Reinforce collaboration and team building, ensure client focus, demonstrate commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivate others to ensure positive morale and engagement.
• Work directly with clients on the projects and tasks that Olsson is leading, developing long-term client relationships.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve successful design of water treatment facilities.
• Mentor, guide, and develop other team members to become technical experts within the water sector.
