Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer to automate tracking and analysis of sophisticated cyber threats targeting customers, employees, products, and infrastructure, turning signals into actionable intelligence for risk-based decisions.

You'll partner across the organization to present insights to stakeholders and executives, model threat landscapes in Vertex Synapse, and cultivate Threat Intelligence relationships while applying generative AI responsibly to improve workflow

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operational threat intelligence, incident response, security research, or cyber investigations.
• Proficient in Python or Go and SQL for data analysis, scripting, or tooling development.
• Ability to translate complex threat analysis into clear, actionable intelligence briefs for technical and executive audiences.
• Track record of independently identifying high-priority threats and building solutions with minimal oversight.
• Skilled in open-source intelligence (OSINT) research across topics.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Automate tracking and analysis of cyber threats targeting Coinbase’s customers, employees, products, and infrastructure.
• Influence decisions by reporting intelligence to stakeholders, partners, and executives.
• Model and curate the threat landscape within Vertex Synapse and elevate analytic quality through peer review and feedback.
• Cultivate strategic relationships within Threat Intelligence communities to expand access to information.
• Investigate and deliver on a high volume of intelligence requests with timely, accurate information.
• Serve as SME on latest cyber threats and risks facing Coinbase, crypto, and financial industry.
