Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer to automate the tracking and analysis of sophisticated cyber threats targeting our customers, employees, products, and infrastructure. You will influence decisions by reporting intelligence to stakeholders and executives.

You will model threat landscapes within Vertex Synapse and drive analytic quality through peer review, while cultivating relationships in Threat Intelligence communities to expand access to information.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operational threat intelligence, incident response, security research, or cyber investigations.
• Proficient in at least one programming language (Python or Go) and SQL for data analysis, scripting, or tooling development.
• Able to translate complex threat analysis into clear intelligence briefs for technical and executive audiences.
• Track record of independently identifying high-priority threats and building solutions with minimal oversight.
• Skilled in conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) research across topics.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.

• Influence decisions by reporting and presenting intelligence to stakeholders, partners, and executives.
• Model and curate the threat landscape within Vertex Synapse and improve analytic quality through peer review.
• Cultivate strategic relationships within Threat Intelligence communities to access information and strengthen trust networks.
• Investigate and deliver on a high volume of intelligence requests with timely, accurate information.
• Serve as subject matter expert on cyber threats and risks facing Coinbase and the broader financial industry.
