Job summary

Cotality in Irvine, CA is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to develop and design test automation solutions, ensure maintainability and reliability, and analyze test plans, data, and scenarios across our web solutions.

You will collaborate with QA and development teams, determine automation opportunities, mentor junior teammates, and pre-qualify production releases with comprehensive smoke and automation tests. This role supports 100% remote work within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
• Two years of experience in the job offered or a closely related occupation.
• Experience with advanced test automation framework development using Selenium.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design test automation solutions.
• Maintainability, reliability, separation of test code and test data, recovering from unexpected run-time events, synchronizing test cases with the application under test, and providing meaningful test result.
• Analyze test plans, test cases, test data, test scenarios, and other test documentation.
• Learn, assess, analyze, and research test automation processes in collaboration with other QA and dev teams to automate test procedures.
• Determine if testing can be automated.
• Determine and share new methodologies.
• Apply a consistent and repeatable methodology to the testing of software to maintain quality standards for company products.
• Make recommendations to processes and standards.
• Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
• Collaborate with team members on quality improvements (i.e., testing methods, tools, automation).
• Make recommendations to quality processes.
• Provide metrics for test results.
• Mentor less experienced members when applicable.
• Coordinate the execution of test plans among the QA team members for all new content added to all web solutions each sprint.
• Pre-qualify every production release deployment by ensuring that all smoke and automation tests have been completed successfully.
