Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services contract. The role focuses on managing artifacts for senior leadership, QA of documents for VAMC personnel, and remote work within the United States with core hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ET.

Responsibilities include drafting, editing, and formatting technical documentation, collaborating with SMEs, and maintaining communications plans for EHR transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience (or commensurate experience).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications/artifacts with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complex issues into a clear narrative for senior leadership and VA stakeholders.
• Applies editorial styles and standards consistently across documentation.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for executive VA leadership audiences.
• Creates documentation based on new processes/procedures through each fiscal year.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop comprehensive deliverables.
