VetsEZ is seeking a Technical Writer to join the team supporting a Department of Veterans Affairs project. The position supports the Data Migration & Syndication effort within the EHRM-IO. The candidate must reside within the continental US.

The role involves writing and editing highly complex IT documents, developing communications for SDLC releases, and training staff on updated processes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, computer science, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant technical writing experience.
• Ability to interface with technical staff and end-users to understand requirements.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint; good documentation practices.
• Experience with Change Management (functional, regression, performance).
• Experience with all phases of SDLC, especially creating requirements and design documents.
• Experience developing and maintaining technical docs for developers, training guides.
• VA or federal experience desired.
• Data Migration and Data Syndication within VA desired.

VetsEZ is currently seeking a Tech Writer to join a team to support a project with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The position will support the Data Migration & Syndication effort within the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO). The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates work activities, writes and edits highly complex technical information technology-related documents, including presentations, manuals, reports, and specifications.
• Develop and distribute communications related to core functions, e.g., SDLC quarterly releases, Process/Policy changes, etc.
• Edit documentation for style, clarity, consistency, and adherence to customer guidelines.
• Research highly complex technical concepts to edit policies, procedures, workflows, and manuals and create new technical documents.
• Conducts interviews with various technical staff to gather data for documentation.
• Strategically document, communicate, and train processes to engrain in people, process, and technology culture.
• Evaluates and provides feedback on draft documents and attends documentation reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, computer science, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant technical writing experience
• Ability to interface with technical staff and end-users to understand functional requirements to develop processes and procedures.
• Experience and understanding of good documentation practices and proficiency with core Microsoft software/systems such as Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.
• Experience with Change Management functional, regression, performance, etc.
• Experience with all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), mainly creating the User's Requirements Document and translation into a Functional Requirements Document and Design Document (when applicable).
• Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance/update of technical documents needed for developers to start coding, distribution of final codes, training guides, and physical training for code deployment.
• Experience in the VA or other federal organizations desired.
• Experience with Data Migration and Data Syndication within the VA desired.
