Job summary

Amentum seeks a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager to support Form 10-Q/10-K filings, stock compensation, pensions, derivatives, and related disclosures. The role will lead projects, supervise staff, and coordinate with groups to improve accuracy and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

The candidate should be located within a 2-hour drive of the Reston, VA or Fort Worth, TX offices and possess strong analytical and leadership skills with a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Typically, eight (8) years of accounting experience or six (6) years of public accounting experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• US Citizenship is required.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience auditing a public client or working for a public company within corporate accounting highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP for public filings.
• Prepare memos, journal entries, and reconciliations and ensure accuracy of filings.
• Lead cross-functional projects and coordinate with other teams to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Close activities monthly/quarterly/annual, including tie-out of information for public filings.
• Identify process improvements and provide training plans and implementation strategies.
