Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead technology transformation initiatives in a fully remote role, open to professionals based in South Africa. You will plan, execute, and close complex IT projects, driving on-time delivery, scope control, and budget adherence.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in project management, strong leadership and stakeholder skills, and deep knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and software development lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree or PMP certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on technology transformation and IT projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects in a remote setting.
• Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and other project management methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage distributed teams effectively.
• Strong technical aptitude and understanding of software development lifecycles.
• Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fully remote capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology projects from initiation to closure.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
• Facilitate clear and consistent communication among project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
• Ensure adherence to project management best practices and quality standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations for project-related services.
• Track project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional, remote project teams.
• Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned for future projects.
