Job summary

SES Space & Defense is seeking a highly experienced Senior Subcontracts Manager to lead the subcontracting function for complex, high‑value government programs. You will apply deep federal contracting expertise, negotiate effectively, and manage strategic supplier relationships across satellite and ground services portfolios.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in subcontracts/procurement within defense or aerospace, with a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years in subcontracts/procurement within defense, aerospace, or satellite communications.
Experience managing complex cost‑reimbursable, T&M, and fixed‑price subcontracts.
Mastery of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and related compliance environments.
Active Secret clearance required; ability to support classified programs.

Responsibilities

Lead full lifecycle of subcontract management from strategy to closeout.
Develop and manage subcontracts for satellite systems, ground networks, and related services.
Ensure FAR/DFARS/ITAR compliance across subcontract activities.
Collaborate with Program Management, Contracts, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance.
Mentor junior subcontract staff and drive process improvements.
