Job summary

Optiv is seeking a Sr. Consultant in Strategy & Risk for a fully remote role that can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S. The role focuses on delivering security solutions, risk and compliance assessments, and client engagements to improve security posture and achieve compliance.

The candidate will lead advisory engagements, develop roadmaps, and advise on governance, risk, and control environments across NIST/ISO frameworks, with strong emphasis on AI governance and third-party risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and approximately 5-7 years of related work experience, preferably in a prior consultancy role.
• Experience leading cybersecurity strategy and transformation engagements, including current-state assessments and executive recommendations.
• Experience designing or maturing enterprise cybersecurity and GRC programs across governance, risk management, controls, and policy management.
• Experience assessing insider risk programs, including governance, identity risks, and cross-functional engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic cybersecurity advisory engagements to assess current-state capabilities and define target-state models.
• Develop multi-year cybersecurity and GRC roadmaps aligned with business risk and frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
• Advise clients on governance, risk frameworks, policies, and metrics for executive reporting.
• Design insider risk programs with governance, monitoring, and cross-functional operating models.
• Translate cyber risk into business implications and present actionable recommendations.
