Job summary

EarnIn is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to define and evolve the Identity & Trust platform, enabling secure onboarding across its expanding consumer and enterprise ecosystem.

You will lead multi-year architecture, mentor engineers, and establish reusable platform patterns for security, privacy, and regulatory compliance while guiding AI-enabled engineering workflows. This is a remote role across the United States.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience at staff/senior staff level.
• Proven strategy leadership for large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to lead architecture across teams without direct authority.
• Secure, highly available backend systems design at scale.
• Expertise in identity, trust, privacy, or regulated data systems.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, RBAC/ABAC, MFA.
• Experience with Trust domains like KYC, data tokenization, or data vaults.
• REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Kafka, Kubernetes, microservices.
• Operational discipline: SLOs, incident response, DR.
• AI-assisted engineering tools experience.
• Architectural balance of security, reliability, scalability.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Define the Identity & Trust platform strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Lead architecture and delivery across multiple teams and services.
• Build highly available microservices and secure APIs with security-first mindset.
• Architect OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA and identity federation solutions.
• Create reusable platform patterns and APIs for product teams.
• Set reliability, observability, and incident response standards.
• Advance AI-powered engineering workflows with guardrails.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across the organization.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Risk, Data Science, Compliance and exec stakeholders.
