Job summary

EarnIn in Mountain View is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to define and evolve the Identity & Trust platform, enabling secure onboarding across its consumer and enterprise ecosystem.

Lead architecture across teams, shape multi-year strategy, and drive AI-assisted workflows with strong guardrails for security, privacy, and reliability. This hybrid role requires in-person work at Mountain View HQ 2 days a week.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with progression into Staff/Senior Staff-level leadership.
• Proven track record defining and executing technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience leading architecture and delivery across multiple engineering teams without direct authority.
• Hands-on experience building secure, scalable backend systems and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision, architecture, and multi-year roadmap for Identity & Trust.
• Lead complex initiatives spanning multiple services and teams, from definition to rollout.
• Design highly available distributed systems and APIs with security and reliability in mind.
• Architect solutions for OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA, and identity federation.
• Create reusable patterns, standards, APIs, and platform primitives for product teams.
• Set reliability, observability, and incident response standards across Trust infrastructure.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering workflows with guardrails for security and privacy.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across the organization.
• Collaborate with product, security, risk, data science, and compliance teams to translate requirements into durable strategies.
