The Hartford is seeking a Senior Staff Attorney for a remote role, primarily handling cases in Queens and Nassau Counties. The attorney will manage premises liability, commercial and personal motor vehicle defense, reporting to the Managing Attorney.

Independent handling from inception to trial is expected in a collegial litigation team. Candidates should have NYS bar license, 7+ years in insurance defense, strong research/writing, and ability to leverage AI tools in a tech-driven environment.

Formación

• JD from an accredited law school and active NYS license.
• Active or clearly transferable federal court admission is a plus.
• Minimum seven years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong research and writing abilities, organized and deadline-driven.
• Excellent communication, computer and technology skills, incl. AI tools.

Responsabilidades

• Handle moderately complex and moderately high exposure litigation.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct in-depth research, develop defense strategies.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions and briefs with minimal supervision.
• Provide timely communications and legal advice to clients and claims partners.
• Communicate with court, clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel professionally.
• Ensure prompt, efficient disposition of assigned cases.
• Prepare witnesses and evidence for trial and hearings; attend CLE to maintain expertise.
