Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Senior Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer to join the Information Systems team in a remote, globally distributed role. You will drive automation, IaC, CI/CD practices, and operate Canonical’s production services at scale.

You'll design scalable infrastructure across private and public clouds, improve product feedback to developers, mentor teammates, and own critical escalations while collaborating with a global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or related engineering field.
• Experience with Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
• Proven ability to manage and deploy cloud infrastructure with code.

Responsibilities

• Drive automation and GitOps within the team as an embedded tech lead.
• Design and architect services to be offered as products.
• Maintain operational responsibility for Canonical’s core services, networks, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering, operations, and support peers.
• Provide troubleshooting expertise from kernel to web and handle time-critical escalations.
