Wellington Management is seeking a Solution Architect, Technology to lead architecture across products and platforms. You will translate business goals into scalable, secure designs and collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, and Enterprise Architects to drive execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Eng, Tech, or related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering, solution architecture, platform architecture, or related leadership roles.
• Experience architecting complex enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, application architecture, integration patterns, APIs, microservices, and distributed computing.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, and observability.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, integration architecture, and enterprise application design.
• Ability to work across product, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, and business teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication abilities.
• Experience with architecture governance and technology standards.
• Prior experience in financial services or capital markets preferred.
• Familiarity with TOGAF or related architecture practices suggested.
• Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems while coordinating across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design activities for products or domains.
• Translate business requirements into end-to-end solution architectures.
• Create logical, physical, data, security, and deployment architectures.
• Ensure solutions balance functionality, scalability, and cost.
• Produce architecture artifacts and communicate decisions.
• Guide engineering teams to maintain design intent throughout delivery.
• Partner with Product Owners to define architecture roadmaps.
• Identify dependencies, modernization opportunities, and technical debt.
• Align architecture decisions with product priorities and platform goals.
• Coordinate with Enterprise Architects to align with enterprise strategies.
• Assist in planning by identifying risks and sequencing implementations.
• Help teams with build-versus-buy decisions based on value and risk.
• Contribute to architecture governance and standard practices.
• Drive security, resiliency, and operational excellence in designs.
• Mentor engineers and architects in best practices.
