Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a large technical team in delivering complex engineering projects. You will guide architecture, design, and development across frontend, backend, and graphics components, ensuring scalable and reliable systems.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software roles with hands-on experience in C++, Java, Python, and modern web tech, plus 5+ years of architecture and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Science, or related field and eight (8) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, or related role.
• Five years of experience with architecture, design, reliability, and scalability of systems; frontend/backend/graphics; RESTful APIs; and deploying scalable visualization services using AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large group of technical employees responsible for engineering deliverables aligned with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for the Vehicle Development Process deliverables and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Supervise and mentor managers and engineers to maintain quality, performance, and growth.
