Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Gordian Knot team and help unleash the potential of every business. You will design, develop, and test software for a high-volume, high-availability payments platform, while contributing to the modernization toward scalable microservices across the stack.

Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support in an Agile, pair-programming culture.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, CS or related field.
7+ years of Java software engineering experience.
Strong SQL and Java programming skills.
Ability to translate high-level business goals into technical solutions.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities based on business needs.
Proficiency with SQL, relational data modelling, and database design.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery for a high-volume platform.
Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Use Agile practices such as pair programming and test-driven development to maximize productivity and quality.
Deploy new features into production with zero platform downtime and no customer impact.
Build domain expertise in e-commerce payments and develop new product features.
