Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a seasoned backend engineer to join the Card Loan Platform team. You will help build the financial brain behind our card products, delivering high-throughput, low-latency services that support real-time approvals, origination, and refunds.

Collaborating with product, data science, and engineering, you will drive system design, APIs, data models, and scalable architectures. You will mentor junior engineers and uphold best practices in a distributed, cloud-based environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in scalable systems.
• Strong knowledge of system design and architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development of large-scale services.
• Build robust APIs and data models for microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting.
