About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and innovative technology firm, is looking for a highly skilled Remote Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in Backend Development. This role is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute to our cutting-edge projects from the comfort of your home office anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable backend systems and APIs that power our suite of applications. This position requires a deep understanding of software architecture, database management, and modern development practices. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality software solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making, all within a collaborative and progressive remote work culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.


• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go).


• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

Requirements

• Strong experience with designing and consuming RESTful APIs.


• Solid understanding of database technologies, including relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases.


• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
