Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements; identify product impact and possible implementation options, and recommend the best solution for customers and HLG.
- Create and maintain application code that meets design specifications, follows HLG standards, and is easy to maintain.
- Perform code reviews for technical accuracy, standards, and compliance with requirements.
- Provide Level 2 support for applications.
- Estimate work efforts as requested.
- Meet deadlines related to product release timelines and complete development tasks on time.
- Fulfill administrative reporting requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of IBM AS/400 (PowerSystems) RPG-ILE programming experience.
- Experience with IBM AS/400 hardware/software migrations and troubleshooting hardware issues.
- Experience with software requirements specifications and interpreting design requirements.
- Experience working in a team environment developing software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- IBM DB2 experience.
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience with testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of county government software operations, billing, or financial systems.
- Knowledge of VTL, RDX drives, and Evault cloud backup.
- Basic knowledge of IBM Web Instances and PHP.
