Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a technical leader in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging highly complex software for new products and enhancements.

The role requires mastery of programming languages, strong software architecture understanding including microservices and cloud platforms, and proven leadership and communication abilities. Remote within the continental U.S. with a preference for proximity to a FedEx Freight location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or other quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Expertise in programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug highly complex software programs for enhancements and new products.
• Ensure application of systems thinking principles enabling team members to design, code, test, and deploy software.
• Provide documentation supporting the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Develop prototypes and solutions leveraging diverse technologies.
• Advise on modern architectures, methodologies, tools, and processes to launch new business capabilities.
• Lead resolution of highly complex problems.
• Research and integrate emerging technologies to enhance capabilities and architecture.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies; perform other duties as required.
