Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a senior data engineer to own and mature the Snowflake data platform across multiple accounts. You will design scalable data architectures, enforce data governance, and collaborate with partners to drive data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities include security, RBAC/ABAC, building data pipelines with DBT and Airflow, and optimizing performance in a cloud environment. Remote role open to NC/FL/TX/AZ locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years' experience OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 8 years' experience in data engineering, data technologies, cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Establish and enforce data governance, security, and quality policies including RBAC/ABAC, masking, and data classification.
• Build performant Snowflake objects and optimize clustering and micro-partitioning.
• Analyze and optimize large-scale data operations and troubleshoot data issues.
• Validate Snowflake objects, roles, RBAC policies, configurations, and integrations.
• Lead release management and deployment to environments including production and DR.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across teams.
