Job summary

Material Security is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of the infrastructure across GCP, Kubernetes, and Postgres. You’ll build systems and create a culture that eliminates on-call toil and gives engineers visibility into system health.

You’ll collaborate with every product team and leadership to decide where things go, design tooling for health across hundreds of GCP projects, and define SLOs with product teams to raise reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Production code is your default way of solving a problem.
• Hands-on experience running GCP and Kubernetes at production scale, including autoscaling and capacity management.
• You have built tools and automation that other engineers depend on.

Responsibilities

• Design and build software that removes manual on-call intervention and recurring sources of toil.
• Lead infrastructure projects end to end.
• Find where cost-driven limits create latency or reliability problems, and fix the trade-off.
• Build tooling that shows system health across our GCP projects at a glance.
• Define SLOs with product teams and raise the bar on reliability practice across engineering.
• Pioneer reliability engineering for agent-first production systems.
