Job summary

Smart Tech Skills LLC is seeking a Senior Security Engineer/Consultant to design, build, and maintain automations for a large security operations program. You will work with security architects, engineers, analysts, and incident responders to implement Python-driven automations, internal apps, APIs, and dashboards in a fully remote environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on security engineering, advanced scripting, and supporting both engineering and operational functions in a 24x7 setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Software Engineering, or Information Security; 8+ years may substitute.
• 5+ years supporting large IT environments, security systems, and deployments.
• Hands-on security engineering across multiple technologies, systems, and integrations.
• Experience integrating enterprise tech via APIs, SDKs, web services, and structured data.
• Strong troubleshooting across apps, security platforms, OS, networks, and identity services.
• Experience with Linux deployment, patching, scripting, and lifecycle management.
• Automation/workflow development using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, JSON, YAML.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support Python-based automations, internal apps, APIs, SDKs, and dashboards.
• Build automated workflows for alert enrichment, triage, incident response, and case management.
• Develop tools for CVE vetting, vulnerability enrichment, prioritization, and tracking.
• Plan, deploy, and support security platforms (SIEM/XDR/SOAR) and related tooling.
• Integrate tools with ticketing, identity, and data sources via APIs/SDKs.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, JSON, YAML.
• Provide IAM support including provisioning, access reviews, and RBAC.
