Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a seasoned Grants Administrator to support pre- and post-award activities for multiple PIs in General Medicine. This remote role reports to the Finance Manager and handles budgets, justifications, and sponsor compliance for proposal submissions.

Responsibilities include budget projections, expense analysis, account reconciliations, and journal entries. A collaborative, detail-oriented professional who can work independently is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of progressive research administration experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist PIs with complex, multi-year budgets and justifications, following guidelines.
• Meet with PIs to coordinate proposal documents for grant submissions.
• Prepare Material Transfer Forms, Unfunded Agreements, Non-Disclosure and other forms.
• Reconcile faculty and divisional accounts using M-Pathways and Business Objects.
• Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance, UM Cost Accounting Standards and sponsor guidelines.
• Set up subaccounts, subcontracts, and cost-sharing activities as needed.
• Analyze financial status reports and journal entries; support budget projections and re-budgets.
• Collaborate with faculty, ORSP, Financial Operations and Shared Services to resolve issues.
• Assist with All Fund Budget preparation and ad hoc reports.
