Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to scale data science and AI for end-to-end payment optimization. You will design and deploy real-time models, lead cross-functional initiatives, and mentor senior data scientists while balancing strategic leadership with hands-on work across architecture, reviews, and production ML solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in ML research or engineering with 5+ years building real-time ML systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Statistics/Math/Engineering; PhD preferred.
• Strong Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and SQL experience.
• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bonus: payments/fintech experience and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, or Vertex AI.

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision for data-driven payment optimization.
• Develop scalable real-time ML models and monitoring.
• Oversee end-to-end ML model development and deployment.
• Establish ML best practices and evaluate modern tools.
• Mentor senior data scientists and collaborate across teams.
• Partner with product/engineering/compliance to integrate ML into products.
• Coordinate with DS leaders to optimize end-to-end delivery.
