Job summary

TE Connectivity Ltd. is seeking a Senior R&D Product Engineer to lead the design and development of high-speed cable assemblies. You will translate customer needs into concepts, create 2D/3D designs and BOMs, build prototypes, and drive qualification and documentation through production release.

You will collaborate with global teams across manufacturing, quality, and sales to ensure cost targets, schedule adherence, and reliable field performance. Strong CAD, DFMEA, and PM skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-speed cable assembly design and development or related cable assembly engineering.
• Experience developing products from concept through qualification, production launch, and lifecycle management.
• Experience working with customers and cross-functional teams in a global engineering environment.
• Background in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), product qualification, and engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of high-speed cable assembly products from concept through production release.
• Gather and translate customer requirements (Voice of Customer) into product concepts and specifications.
• Develop technical proposals and engineering solutions for customers.
• Create detailed 2D/3D cable assembly designs, cable routing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Build and evaluate prototypes, perform validation testing, and drive continuous design improvements.
• Complete product qualification activities and finalize product documentation.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and production teams to ensure successful product launches.
• Troubleshoot product issues and manage Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and Product Change Notifications (PCNs).
• Support customer installations and resolve field-related technical issues.
• Develop a strong understanding of customer applications and market needs to deliver effective solutions.
• Participate in LEANPD stage-gate development processes, ensuring projects meet cost, quality, and timeline objectives.
• Conduct engineering analysis, DFMEA activities, testing, verification, and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with global manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve technical, quality, and cost targets.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, design history files, and change notices.
