Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation seeks a Senior Quality Engineering Automation Engineer to design and maintain scalable automated testing solutions for web applications. You will collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and DevOps to improve product quality and speed delivery.

Responsibilities include building reusable automation frameworks with Playwright/Selenium in Java, executing tests, and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of web test automation experience.
• Hands-on Java programming for automation frameworks.
• Experience with Playwright and/or Selenium.
• Proficiency with Cucumber and BDD practices.
• Strong functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to design, execute, and maintain test cases from requirements.
• Experience analyzing results, debugging defects, and enabling resolution.
• Experience building reusable automation components for scalable frameworks.
• Agile collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable web automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Selenium with Java.
• Implement functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across apps and platforms.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Develop and execute test cases, analyze results, document defects, and support resolution.
• Establish test-data strategies, automation standards, and reusable components.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, product owners, and DevOps to ensure test coverage.
• Participate in requirements reviews, test planning, risk assessments, and release-readiness.
• Monitor automation coverage and quality metrics, driving continuous improvement.
