Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation in the United States is seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Automation Engineer to design and maintain scalable automated testing solutions for web applications. You will work with developers, product teams, and DevOps to improve quality and speed of delivery.

You will build reusable automation frameworks using Playwright and Selenium in Java, integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines, and drive best practices across functional, integration, and end-to-end

Qualifications

• At least six years of experience in web application test automation.
• Hands-on Java programming experience.
• Experience with Cucumber and behavior-driven development practices.
• Strong experience in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and maintain test cases based on business and technical requirements.
• Experience analyzing automated test results, investigating failures, documenting defects, and supporting defect resolution.
• Experience building reusable automation components and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable web automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Selenium with Java.
• Implement functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing solutions across multiple applications and platforms.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop and execute test cases, analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with development teams to support timely resolution.
• Establish test-data strategies, automation standards, reusable components, and quality engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate in requirements reviews, test planning, risk assessments, and release-readiness activities.
• Monitor automation coverage, testing efficiency, defect trends, and quality metrics while driving continuous improvement.
