Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Automation Engineer to design and maintain scalable automated testing for web apps. You will collaborate across QA, development, product, and DevOps to boost quality and speed delivery.

Responsibilities include building Playwright/Selenium frameworks in Java, integrating tests with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), and driving automation best practices in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of web test automation experience with Playwright or Selenium.
• Hands-on Java development of automation frameworks and test scripts.
• Experience with Cucumber and behavior-driven development.
• Strong experience across functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to design, execute and maintain test cases from business/technical requirements.
• Experience analyzing automated results and supporting defect resolution.
• Experience building reusable automation components and scalable frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable web automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Selenium with Java.
• Implement functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing solutions across multiple applications and platforms.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop and execute test cases, analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with development teams to support timely resolution.
• Establish test-data strategies, automation standards, reusable components, and quality engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate in requirements reviews, test planning, risk assessments, and release-readiness activities.
• Monitor automation coverage, testing efficiency, defect trends, and quality metrics while driving continuous improvement.
