Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Automation Engineer to design and maintain scalable automated testing solutions for web applications. You will collaborate with developers, analysts, product owners, and DevOps to improve product quality and accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities include building reusable automation frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD, and driving best practices across functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in web application test automation using Playwright and/or Selenium.
• Hands-on Java programming for automation frameworks and scripts.
• Experience with Cucumber and behavior-driven development.
• Strong experience in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and maintain test cases from business and technical requirements.
• Experience analyzing automated test results, investigating failures, and supporting defect resolution.
• Experience building reusable automation components and scalable test automation frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable web automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Selenium with Java.
• Implement functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across multiple applications and platforms.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop and execute test cases, analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with development teams to support timely resolution.
• Establish test-data strategies, automation standards, reusable components, and quality engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate in requirements reviews, test planning, risk assessments, and release-readiness activities.
• Monitor automation coverage, testing efficiency, defect trends, and quality metrics while driving continuous improvement.
