Job summary

OSC EdgeTech is hiring a Senior Python Developer to design and deploy scalable Python scanning and AI‑enabled software for government environments. The role requires a former or current security clearance, and work may be remote while supporting national security programs.

You will lead AI/ML model integration, build automated workflows, and drive architecture decisions across distributed systems, with emphasis on reliability, security, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, AI/ML, or related field.
• Eight or more years of professional Python software development experience.
• Active Secret or Top‑Secret security clearance.
• Experience with DISA STIGs, SCAP content, or similar cybersecurity compliance.
• Development and deployment in restricted or air‑gapped environments.
• Experience with local/self‑hosted AI or model integration and cloud APIs.
• Experience leading development teams and performing architecture reviews.
• Experience contributing to enterprise dashboards and full‑stack web apps.

Responsibilities

• Scanner development: design, develop, test, and optimize Python‑based scanning capabilities.
• AI‑enabled product engineering: implement production AI within Optica using local and cloud models.
• AI‑assisted STIG ingestion: create AI processes for interpreting DISA STIGs and mapping content.
• AI‑driven automation: automate complex workflows with AI, ensuring quality and throughput metrics.
• Model integration: manage local/self‑hosted models for air‑gapped and cloud environments.
• Model evaluation and adaptation: support model lifecycle from data prep to production monitoring.
• Coverage expansion: extend cybersecurity content coverage to apps, databases, and middleware.
• Delivery ownership: plan and execute development to deployment with clear risk communication.
• Product engineering discipline: code reviews, testing, observability, secure dev practices.
• Technical leadership: set architecture standards and mentor the team.
