REMOTE Senior Protection & Controls Substation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Protection & Controls Substation Engineer to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and managing electrical substation projects, with expertise in high-voltage systems and industry standards.

Responsibilities include:

1. Designing and developing high voltage substation projects from 15 kV to 500 kV, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
2. Managing the entire project lifecycle, from conception to commissioning, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
3. Performing technical calculations such as relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit analysis.
4. Collaborating with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to meet project requirements and standards.
5. Utilizing SCADA systems for monitoring and control, ensuring system reliability and safety.
6. Providing technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
7. Staying updated with industry trends, standards, and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in substation project engineering or similar roles.
• Proficiency in SCADA systems and high-voltage substation design.
• Experience managing the full project lifecycle.
• Strong skills in relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.
• Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to work remotely.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
