Job summary

Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant with deep property risk engineering expertise to support high‑hazard industrial accounts. This 100% property‑focused role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with experience in complex manufacturing operations and fire protection systems.

The consultant will conduct on‑site property risk assessments, identify loss drivers, and partner with insureds to deliver practical risk improvement recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferred.
• 8+ years in technical/engineering experience.
• Property experience including high hazard exposure.
• Strong understanding of NFPA Codes and Standards.
• Proficient in Word; basic Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel by car; limited air travel.
• Excellent communication and technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Perform property risk engineering site inspections of complex accounts.
• Generate technical risk reports identifying exposures and controls.
• Collaborate with Risk Analysts to resolve deficiencies.
• Partner on projects to grow knowledge of processes and controls.
• Mentor junior Risk Engineering Consultants in report writing and audits.
• Coordinate with internal/external resources on risks of varying complexity.
