Western Electricity Coordinating Council in Salt Lake City region seeks a Senior Reliability Assessments Engineer to lead reliability analyses using state-of-the-art tools. You will evaluate reliability risks to the Bulk Power System and mentor other engineers while collaborating with industry groups and regulators.

The role requires an engineering/related degree, 8+ years in cost/reliability modeling, and proficiency with tools like Plexos, SERVM, GridView, and MARS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• At least eight years of experience in production cost modeling, resource adequacy modeling, or capacity expansion modeling.
• Experience using production cost tools such as Astrape SERVM, Plexos, ABB GridView, GE MARS.
• Strong report writing and ability to communicate reliability risks to the Bulk Power System.

Responsabilités

• Propose, lead, and conduct reliability assessments based on emerging issues and trends.
• Apply deterministic, probabilistic, or other model types to support adequacy studies.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with industry groups and regulators.
• Identify needs for new software tools and processes to assess data and power system reliability.
• Deliver clear presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support WECC and NERC committees, task forces, and work groups.
• Mentor engineers and analysts; work with WECC staff on industry initiatives.
