Job summary

Finite State is seeking a Senior Product Security Consultant – Advisory to lead advisory engagements for clients across the United States from a remote-first setup. You will frame regulatory programs, deliver assessments, and act as the client’s product security leader on engagements.

You will leverage Finite State’s platform and expert teams to translate complex regulations into actionable product requirements, guide secure development practices, and present to executives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 in consulting or advisory work at a professional services firm, with a track record of leading client engagements.
• Cybersecurity program experience, with enough grasp of binary analysis, SBOMs, vulnerability management, and reachability to hold your own with engineers.
• Working depth in automotive, IoT, industrial, or healthcare, including the regulations and standards that govern it.
• Discipline in running engagements: work breakdown structures, milestone schedules, status reporting, risk and action tracking.
• Writing and presence fit for executives; able to brief VPs, General Counsels, and boards in writing and in person.
• An AI-native way of working: LLMs and agentic tools as force multipliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead advisory engagements end to end, scope the work, set milestones, run client meetings, track risks, and deliver on time.
• Frame regulatory programs for EU CRA, CE RED, FDA 524B, and FCC Cyber Trust Mark, including classification, evidence, conformity path, and roadmap.
• Deliver security and regulatory compliance assessments and produce prioritized recommendations.
• Serve as the named vCPSO on client accounts and manage the product security program cadence.
• Design secure development lifecycle programs with policy, governance, and training.
• Write deliverables executives can act on and engineers can defend: assessments, roadmaps, policies, briefings, evidence packages.
• Collaborate with engineering and offensive security teams to translate findings into regulatory and business terms.
• Scope bootcamps and provide advisory support through the services request process.
• Build templates, playbooks, and reusable assets to speed engagements and contribute to Finite State's voice.
• Contribute to public thought leadership through writing and speaking.
