Job summary

CaRMS is seeking a Manager, Product Development to lead a multidisciplinary team spanning software development, product ownership, business analysis and project delivery. This remote role requires a Canada-based candidate, with occasional travel and overtime for critical deadlines.

You will drive Agile practices, modernize technology stacks from legacy Java/WebLogic to Python/Laravel, and collaborate with stakeholders to align roadmaps with match-cycle timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on software development experience.
• Minimum 2 years leading or managing developers and technical specialists.
• Hands-on experience with modern web application stacks such as Python and Laravel, with legacy Java/WebLogic knowledge.
• Experience with external development partners and client-facing IT projects.
• Experience with product ownership or product management practices, including roadmapping.
• Proven coaching, performance management and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a service-delivery environment dependent on a client-focused IT platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Product Development team, overseeing delivery and priorities.
• Build a high-performing team with HR-aligned coaching and performance management.
• Lead Agile delivery practices, user story development, and release management.
• Provide technical leadership and participate in design discussions and code reviews.
• Drive modernization of technology stacks (Python, Laravel) while supporting legacy systems.
• Define end-to-end solution design for current and next-gen products.
• Collaborate with Product team on UX and translation of business needs into clear requirements.
• Plan, prioritize and oversee project work across the team; monitor risks and dependencies.
• Work with internal/external partners to set expectations on scope, quality and budgets.
• Maintain and review technical documentation and contracts related to software services.
