Job summary

McGraw Hill Higher Education is seeking a Senior Product Developer to lead complex product development work that ensures educational integrity, customer value, and coherent course experiences across content, assessments, and delivery platforms.

The role partners with authors, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to translate research into high-quality digital learning experiences, while guiding AI-assisted workflows with rigorous human review and bias checks. Remote in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5 years of product management and product development.
• 2-3 years of experience managing digital product development.
• Knowledge of learning science, instructional design, assessment quality, accessibility, and universal design.
• Ability to use data and qualitative evidence to make and explain product decisions.
• Responsible use of AI-assisted workflows, including verification, bias awareness, source traceability, and human review.

Responsibilities

• Leading development strategy and executing complex, high-impact, or multi-component products, establishing clear outcomes, quality criteria, review approaches, and evidence-based release plans.
• Synthesizing customer research, learning and usage analytics, competitive evidence, correction patterns, and business context to make and defend product-level decisions.
• Ensuring coherence across narrative content, assessments, adaptive experiences, instructor resources, media, accessibility, metadata, and digital implementation.
• Leading authors, subject-matter experts, reviewers, suppliers, and cross-functional partners through difficult tradeoffs, scope changes, quality concerns, and iterative releases.
• Defining fit-for-purpose human-review controls for AI-assisted content and workflows; approve outputs within assigned scope and elevate material academic, legal, privacy, bias, provenance, or trust risks.
• Mentoring Product Developers, improve practices, and lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen customer experience, learning quality, development effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
