Job summary

SAIC seeks a Senior Principal Cloud Architect in San Diego, CA to guide complex cloud solutions from inception to operations, emphasizing security, scalability, and DoD compliance.

The role is remote within the San Diego area with onsite requirements and up to 10% travel; collaborate with software, data, and analytics teams to design architectures supporting enterprise data platforms and AI in secure environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen; eligible for Interim Secret and Secret clearances.
• Proven cloud architect with AWS, networking, VPNs, IaaS/PaaS.
• Expertise in Active Directory design and maintenance.
• Familiar with ITSM tool suites and GovCloud security.
• Proficient in SSM/JSON/YAML and CloudFormation templates.
• Experience deploying AWS Workspaces/VDI on AWS.
• Strong ability to plan migrations and secure, scalable cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for cloud solution architectures, focusing on security, scalability, and resiliency.
• Plan, design, and manage migration, re-platforming, integration, and operation of complex cloud environments.
• Define and implement security processes; assist with platform transformation.
• Ensure CSO adheres to DoD Cloud Computing policy and guidelines.
• Advise on hardware/software selection and data migration techniques for optimal solutions.
• Develop and test cloud and virtualization systems.
• Stay current with cloud standards; evaluate new cloud/virtualization tech.
• Collaborate with software, data, and analytics teams to align with data strategy and governance.
• Work with senior management to set strategic plans and objectives.
• Design secure, scalable cloud infrastructure to support data platforms and AI environments.
