Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead a growing team and advance electric utility modeling and analytics from a remote US-based role.

You will manage projects, mentor engineers, and develop transmission/distribution models using CAPE, PSSE, PSCAD, CYME, and WindMil, while automating analyses with Python, SQL, and VBA.

Ideal candidates have a strong electrical engineering background and 8+ years in utilities, with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or power engineering.
• 8+ years in transmission/distribution modeling, short circuit and power flow analysis.
• 5+ years at an electric utility or similar utility environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team in power systems modeling and analytics.
• Interact with clients, develop scopes of work, timelines and budgets.
• Create and maintain transmission and distribution models using CAPE, PSSE, PSCAD, CYME and WindMil.
• Develop automation scripts in Python, SQL, and VBA to improve efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing analyses and deliverables.
