Job summary

BambooHR is seeking a Sr. Product Manager to own how agents run on the Agent Runtime—the execution layer, triggers, governance, and metering that make agent work observable and billable.

You will lead the development of an architecture for the legacy agent platform, manage a migration plan, and drive intake for teams building agents. This role requires you to align multiple stakeholders and navigate AI-driven workflows with strong governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience in platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products.
• Technical depth in execution systems, workflows, or eventing; understand durable execution, retries, and safe migrations.
• Experience as product owner for internal platform consumers with intake discipline, published contracts, and a visible roadmap.
• Ability to drive alignment across teams without direct authority.
• Judgment to make migration calls when engineering convenience and consumer safety conflict.
• Comfort with AI and agent systems and rapid pattern changes.
• Instrument before asserting, document decisions, and sequence work by consumer impact.

Responsibilities

• Own product direction for the Agent Runtime, including durable execution, human-in-the-loop gates, auditability, and capacity posture as agent count grows.
• Lead architecture decisions on the legacy agent platform.
• Own a dated migration plan onto a new runtime, sequenced by consumer impact.
• Own agent governance as a product with a trust framework built on BambooHR authorization patterns.
• Define and drive usage instrumentation, including instigation flags, lifecycle events, and a metering schema.
• Run intake and prioritization for teams building agents; publish guidance on build now vs. wait.
• Maintain boundary between platform agents and AI surfaces with named consumer stakeholders.
• Coordinate how agents are triggered by platform events and what subscriptions require.
• Be the consumer stakeholder on context and signal standards for agent use.
• Deliver a written architecture decision for the legacy agent platform with a dated migration plan.
• Stand up an intake path for teams building agents and publish guidance on build now vs wait.
• Establish runtime capacity and reliability reporting for leadership.
• Ship the first version of the metering schema with instigation and lifecycle events.
