Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a Senior/Staff Platform Engineer to build, operate, and evolve large-scale production infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, translating complex problems into reliable systems.

You will own platform-level concerns, write automation in Go/Python/Java, and drive reliability across hybrid/cloud environments. This is a highly autonomous remote role with Pacific Hours.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Platform/SRE/DevOps or related fields; Staff level preferred.
• Deep experience operating production Kubernetes platforms end-to-end.
• Production coding in Go, Python, or Java and strong incident response skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and improve production Kubernetes platforms.
• Own cluster architecture, networking, isolation, security, and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes beyond application layer; diagnose complex infra issues.
• Operate large-scale cloud/hybrid infrastructure across environments.
• Develop automation to improve platform reliability and developer experience.
• Lead incident response and drive durable remediation with postmortems.
